Description

The objective of this study is to deepen our understanding of diasporas as humanitarian actors with different modus operandi for the implementation of aid in practice. This fits within an overarching aim to improve coordination between diaspora organisations and the humanitarian system.  Specifically, the study examines what diaspora actors are doing to support the preparedness of home communities for adverse climate-related impacts, the ways in which diaspora actors work, and the relationship with the formal humanitarian system.  The study is based around five relevant case studies: South Sudan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Tuvalu and Egypt.
